For a period of over 30 years, first as a corporate human resource management professional, more recently as a university professor, and now as a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, a major part of my mission has been assisting individuals in the process of ‘learning how to learn.’ That endeavor has been characterized by a tripartite philosophy of teaching/education that views education as the key to knowledge, knowledge as the key to understanding, and understanding as the key to our continued collective existence. In service of that philosophy I take an approach to coaching that focuses on helping clients learn to discover knowledge, rather than relying on a training model or rote learning, and strive to accomplish learning goals within an environment of mutual respect and dignity.
Six Word Vision Statement: Using strengths to learn and teach.
I am intrigued by culture and have spent a large portion of my career in an international setting. I have consulted in Russia, Denmark, Sweden, Philippines and the Caribbean and find great joy in meeting new people. I firmly believe that there is great joy in life, and understanding talent gives us the keys to become better versions of who we already are. My talents have blessed me with developing skills for working with people, helping them to find their potential and reach it.
I feel great about life when I can train, instruct, or tutor an individual or a group. I love being aware of others’ feelings, thoughts, and needs to guide them into and through partnerships. I consider various ways to sustain the connections between individuals and groups helping them discover reasons to support one another. I have a passion for educating and helping people discover what they do best in life.
I earned my B.A. in Industrial Psychology from Pennsylvania State University and M.S. in Group Process and Group Psychotherapy from Hahnemann University. I completed the Arizona Education Policy Fellowship Program at Arizona State University – a 10 month in-service leadership development program that emphasizes diversity and ethics. My clients appreciate my strategic vision and down-to-earth, practical approach to managing all types of personal and organizational issues. I am a dynamic instructor, facilitator and coach, with skills in creating unbiased, open, and inspiring learning environments. I have two daughters and a wonderful husband. My favorite activities are hiking, cooking and traveling.

I am a Gallup -Certified Strengths coach whose Top 5 Themes are Connectedness, Belief, Relator, Individualization, and Futuristic. I tap into each of these Talent Themes (Strengths) to help people develop the skills they need to communicate more effectively and to lead with greater confidence.
Connectedness allows me to see the big picture, to see the ways in which we are all inextricably linked, to passionately believe that when we combine our strengths, we can do amazing things! My Belief and Futuristic themes fuel me in pursuing my life's purpose; to help others identify and leverage their strengths, to visualize the possibilities, and to get to that "sweet spot" where they focus on their passions, use their innate talents, and contribute in meaningful ways. My Individualization theme helps me focus on every person's distinct attributes and needs, with my Relator theme driving my commitment to their success.
As a Gallup-Strengths coach, I work with motivated individuals who not only want more satisfaction out of their careers, but are ready to take action; who are open to a process of continuous learning, reflection, and growth.
As an educator, I help working adults pursuing an undergraduate degree to develop, refine, and apply their behavioral leadership skills, promoting their engagement and effectiveness in the workplace. I also coach individuals embarking on Graduate and Ph.D studies, as well as junior faculty who are transitioning into a new professional role and identity.
Whatever YOUR goal; leadership coaching, self-discovery, or pursuing a degree, I am committed to support you in a process of self-discovery and powerful transformation. What's your sweet spot?

Both Alicia and Anne are Gallup Certified Strengths Coaches and are committed to helping you develop your talents into Strengths. Strengths University specializes in education. We do individual coaching, as well as group training.
We empower people. We believe that everyone benefits when individuals understand, appreciate, and develop their own unique set of talents. When people know who they are and what they do best, they are happier, more productive, more engaged, more successful, and treat others with respect and compassion.
Anne's Bio | I have worked in Higher Education for almost 20 years. I've seen so many students, faculty, and staff struggle because they haven’t found their voice, discovered their strengths, or how to use them. Over the years, I have trained and coached students, student leaders, administrators, faculty, and staff about assertiveness, interpersonal communication, engagement, teamwork, and anything else I thought would help them better manage the issues they faced. I empower people by giving them the skills they need to develop their talents, advocate for themselves, and better understand others. Once people know who they are and what they can do, they treat others and, often more importantly themselves with the respect they deserve.
Alicia's Bio | I have always been dedicated to serving others, especially those who have faced significant challenges in their lives. I have worked in Higher Education for the past 10 years. In every facet of my career, I’ve advocated for the people I work with to make sure they had their best chance at overcoming any obstacle and being successful. When I discovered Strengths almost five years ago, I knew my approach to coaching and supporting others would never be the same. Now when I work with students, staff, or faculty, I use my knowledge to help them discover their own talents and the talents of those around them. I am energized when I’m helping someone navigate and develop their talents to become the best and most authentic version of themselves. The best part of my day is seeing someone’s reaction when they discover something new about themselves, their abilities, or their lives. My passion is helping other people find theirs.
