Finally, after coaching for a dozen years "under the radar," I set out to get legit. I studied transformation under Synergy Education, Inc., and Landmark Worldwide. I was certified as a Strengths Strategy Coach in 2015 and became a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach in 2016. In addition, I'm a Certified Facilitator of Law of Attraction. I've also embarked on a Neuroscience coaching certification to be completed in late 2018.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with lots of people using this strengths-based approach to wellbeing. Over a five-year period, I provided strengths coaching to more than a hundred students. Many of these students started college not knowing what was special about them, but at our college they were given the opportunity to discover and develop their strengths. Retention and student success improved, and many of these young people are now attending graduate school, working in meaningful careers, and experiencing high levels of wellbeing.
I've also worked with cancer survivors, and other people dealing with a big change like retirement or the loss of a job. By identifying and developing their strengths, and clarifying their goals, I’ve seen people experiencing health challenges and big changes begin to thrive through a focus on their strengths.
And lastly, here’s a story about how a strengths-based approach to wellbeing worked for me. In 2015, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and I spent the next year in treatment. At first I couldn't imagine how I would manage. But because of my experience as a strengths coach, I knew that I'd be more powerful more engaged if I used my strengths. So I created a plan to use my Relator, Futuristic, and Maximizer strengths to build relationships with other patients and the nurses in the infusion room, and together we designed our healthy futures. It wasn't always easy, but I know that I was stronger and more resilient throughout that year because I focused on using my strengths. Twelve months later, the Doctor described me as NED - no evidence of disease - and I was free to resume my life. I'm different now, and much more clear about my life. As a result of my cancer journey, I've also become very clear about the power of using our Strengths to experience wellbeing.

I decided to lead the efforts in building a Strengths-based organization and never looked back. I was surprised at some of the things I saw early on in the process. We are all familiar with the phrase "When a door closes, a window opens." For many, it’s just rhetoric - usually from some well-meaning friend or family member. For me, it is the absolute truth that led me to become an inspired and transformational coach.

I was first introduced to Strengths in 2002 when I was part of a team who brought it to the Advertising agency where I worked. I fell in love. I worked with Strengths for the next 14 years and when I left the agency world in 2016, I knew that it was my calling.
My consulting and coaching focus is in three areas:
1. Leadership (Individuals): I work with leaders of organizations to understand their talents and help them turn those talents into Strengths. Each client is different and requires different approaches. Strengths is the cornerstone, along with creating positive habits and incorporating the principles of Emotional Intelligence.
2. Leadership (Teams): The very best leaders know their strengths and their limitations. The most effective leadership teams are made up of individuals who complement each other and are not only self-aware but know how to self-regulate. The beauty about working with Leadership teams is the positive effect the work can have on an entire organization.
3. Organizations with 10-150 people: From my early years of working with Strengths, I have been worked with teams. Team dynamics is one of my passions and I have been successful at working to identify team strengths and how people can not only be aware of what others bring to the table but accept and embrace the differences. I help create highly engaged teams which lead to higher productivity, positivity, and profit.
My 30 years in Marketing and Advertising provide me with a perspective that many companies appreciate because I have first-hand experience of what many of them face daily. Organizations that are highly creative, high-energy and matrixed are among my most successful clients.
I have worked with Marketing, Advertising and PR companies as well as manufacturing, non-profit and higher education. I prefer small and mid-size companies where I can really get the know the people and understand the mission.

As an entrepreneur, I've co-founded several companies including a staffing and recruiting agency for digital talent, a creative studio focused on graphic novels, produced an indie comedy sold to Icon Productions, and a digital agency that currently handles major premium brands.
As a member of the Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO), a global business network of 13,000+ business owners, in 52 countries, I have served as chapter president, area and regional director, and spent 3 years as Chair for EO's Global Growth Team that provided strategic accelerated growth via opening new chapters in Africa, China, and South America. I was a Tedx speaker in 2016 and have also served on the boards of Make a Wish LA and AIGA LA.
Born in NYC, I grew up in Iran, went to boarding school in England and then France before returning to the US to attend Syracuse University, earning a BA in French and an MA in International Relations from the Maxwell School of Citizenship. I have been a competitive fencer for over 40 years, and won 3 over 40/50 US National Championships in Men’s Foil and have represented the USA 6 times at the over 50 World Championships.

For individual coaching, we start with a 50 minute complementary introduction session after you have completed the Clifton Strengths assessment. My journey with strengths began in the fall of 2000 when I came to Omaha for Strengths Coach certification training at Gallup. My graduate education research path had been drawn toward training first-time college students in the use and application of their identified strengths. The Gallup organization and Dr. Edward Chip Anderson, graciously partnered with me on the project, and provided in-house support, mentoring and guidance along the way.
During the exit interviews with each of the students at the end of their first semester, I asked them for a takeaway or a realization from the semester training sequence they had completed. One young lady looked at me and said...for the first time in my life, I feel like it's okay to be ME! From that moment on, I was hooked on the power of the strengths approach. I knew that for this kind of impact to be made in the few weeks I had worked with her, that many more were seeking ways to understand themselves better and leverage their greatest strengths.
In the 18 years since, my focus is using my strengths to help grow, mentor, and invest in others.
